This year, your Capital Improvements and Beautification Board Committee is working to replace our old cement planters. We are working with the City on a cost sharing proposal for this project. The new planters will be quite large - 48" high on Danforth and 34" high on Broadview; and will make a wonderful visual statement. The deadline for the Commercial Facade Improvement Grant is fast approaching. The application deadline for 2011 is Thursday, June 30, 2011. Information from the City of Toronto Website: Commercial Façade Improvement Program for BIAs The City offers grants to eligible commercial property owners for the improvements to commercial building façades. As many of you have noticed, the City has now begun work on our section of the Danforth. They are digging up the sidewalks again in order to replace the lead water pipes. We had specifically asked for advance notice before they started the work but unfortunately they did not provide such advance notice. They have already been doing this work on Broadview Avenue.
