Good Afternoon BIA Members,
In the last week or so I've received a lot of inquiries and complaints about various signs - either A-Frame or painted on the sidewalks. Also because we are installing the various CafeTO patios there are a number of MLS officers in the area who are flagging various signage issues.
I thought that I should review what's allowed and what's not:
- painting on the sidewalks is not allowed by the City of Toronto
- vinyl signage adhered to the sidewalks is not allowed by the City of Toronto
- A-Frame signs are allowed but you must have a permit from the City of Toronto and the sign can only be placed in front of your business. It can't be placed at a different location, it can't be placed in the middle of the sidewalk; and it should be secured with sandbags or something similar to keep it from being blown or knocked over.
Thanks,
Susan
