IMPORTANT: Broadview Danforth Summer Construction

Good Afternoon All BIA Members,

Two weeks ago we were informed by the City and TTC that we will be undergoing a fairly major, multi-component construction project that will affect Broadview north and south of the Danforth and our section of the Danforth.  The work will begin in May and run through to the Fall of this year.

The project includes the following:
  1. Replacement of the streetcar tracks on Broadview from Danforth to Gerrard
  2. The rebuilding of the streetcar loop at the Broadview station
  3. Sewer updates at Broadview and Danforth
The impacts include but are not limited to the following:
  1. No southbound traffic on Broadview; only one lane of northbound traffic and no parking
  2. Broadview and Erindale Avenues (in the area by the subway station) will be closed for 30 days while the streetcar loop is expanded.  The Green P by the Broadview station will also be closed and once reopened will have a reduced number of parking spots.
  3. For 2 weeks in August there will be no westbound traffic allowed on the Danforth
Attached please find 3 information files that provide overviews on all of these components.

This is a massive project that will impact our full BIA area - not just the hot spots on Broadview.  In order for each of you to better understand the extent of this work and all of the impacts we have organized a BIA members meeting to take place on Tuesday, April 11 at 7pm via Zoom.  My City and TTC contacts who are working on this project will present the full scope of the work and will be able to answer your questions.

NEXT STEPS:
Please confirm your participation in this meeting by This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .  The Zoom link will be provided closer to the meeting date of April 11th.

I urge as many of you as possible to join this meeting so you have a better understanding of what will be taking place and how the work will affect your business.

Thanks,
Susan
