- Pay for a meter ticket! It is worth it and better than receiving a $30 fine, the time spent to pay the ticket and if paying online, the $1.50 fee.
- Beware of your parking zones. Read signs and be aware of whether parking is permitted and at what time spans of the day. For example, there is no parking on the south side of Danforth Avenue from 4pm to 6pm, as this is the rush hour designation for no parking or stopping.
- If trying to purchase a ticket for your vehicle and you find that the machine is out of order, use the nearest machine on the same side of the street. If that machine also does not work, call the telephone number on the machine to alert them that the machine is inoperable. There is no need at this point to cross the street to purchase a ticket.
- When you have purchased a ticket on a street you are parking at and should there still be time valid on the purchased ticket, you may use that same ticket further down on the same street. There is no need to buy another ticket to park, unless the time purchased has expired.
- Are you aware that there is a 5 minute grace period that is part of parking enforcement officers' conduct and discretion code? When your purchased ticket expires, there is a 5 minute grace period that is supposed to be enforced by the Parking Enforcement officers.
