Local Chefs Square Off to Create Best Burger
Who makes the best burger on the Danforth? The public will decide on Saturday July 17, at the Danforth Experience Thrill of the Grill.
For a $5 contribution to the Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Clubs, burger lovers will sample five sliders prepared and seasoned for the occasion by Chefs Anthony Walsh (Allen’s Restaurant), Kevin McKenna (Globe Bistro), Josh Dalton (Auld Spot Pub) Mali Fernandez (Embrujo Flamenco) and Zack Davidson, proprietor of The Friendly Butcher.
“The Danforth is going to sizzle,” said Susan Puff, Executive Director of the Danforth Business Improvement Association (Danforth BIA). “Some of our finest chefs are adding thrill to the grill and helping to raise money for a worthwhile cause.”
The Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Clubs play a crucial role in the lives of more than 13,000 children and youth, offering positive role models in safe environments.
A Leader Board will be set up to allow diners to cheer on their favourite burger.
Bull Frog Power, Bulls Eye Sauces, ESKA Water and Scotch Mountain Meats are also proud sponsors of Thrill on the Grill.
Thrill of the Grill runs between noon and 2:30 p.m. at 200 Danforth Avenue. rain or shine.
The Danforth BIA works with more than 350 merchants, restaurants and services to provide a unique, urban shopping, dining and entertainment experience along Danforth Avenue.
