Spring Shopping Event on the Danforth

I was approached by Evelina, the owner of BE Chic Jewelry, asking if after this long, long winter we could do a kick off to Spring event featuring our wonderful businesses. The answer of course was YES. So Evelina braved the weather and started to get some businesses involved. Today I want to ensure that anyone else who would like to participate lets me know.

Here are the details:
A Mile of Style
An evening of Spring Shopping on the Danforth
Friday, April 4, 2014
6 to 9pm

The following businesses have signed up to stay open later on the Friday and to offer wonderful special gifts and deals to shoppers:

  • BE Chic Jewelry
  • Rayne Spa
  • Evymama
  • Aroo
  • El Pipil
  • Dessa
  • Parade
  • Vogue Sposa
  • Body Blue
  • Incanto

The Danforth BIA will do the following to support the event: create a poster and pop card, social media marketing, media release, website promotion, 2 e-blasts.

At this time I need to know if any other businesses would like to join the list above. You need to create a special give-away or special deal and stay open until 9pm. Please let me know via email if you wish to be included by Tuesday, March 18th.

For our restaurants and bakeries - you may want to offer something special that night for shoppers. If you do, just let me know and we can add you to the promotions. Also, some of the retailers will be offering food samples - if any restaurants or bakeries wish to work with the retailers on this component please let me know.

Thanks again to Evelina for coming forward with this idea and working on it; and, thanks to all who are participating.

The Sunflower Project

In celebration of BD Beats, BIA business member @cobsdanforth (156 Danforth Ave.) will be spearheading ‘The Sunflower Project’ , a fundraiser in support of a Ukrainian family’s recent resettlement in Toronto. Vibrant solar powered sunflowers (the official flower of Ukraine) will be available beginning at noon on June 4 with proceeds going directly to the family. A group of volunteer youth will be selling the sunflowers for a minimum donation of $20 each at the BIA CafeTO parkette located in the curb lane enclosure in front of COBS. The goal is to sell one hundred sunflowers by 3pm. For those unable to attend but wishing to make a donation, please click below
