Attached please find some information about the regulations regarding temporary signs in the City of Toronto which include the common “A” Frame signs favoured by many of our members.
These temporary signs are required to have a permit issued by the city.
It has come to TABIA's understanding that in the upcoming months, bylaw enforcement officers will be undertaking ongoing enforcement actions to ensure that all A-frame and mobile signs have the necessary permits and are following the regulations.
We would suggest that at your earliest convenience you ensure that you are compliant with size and location as well as having a tag indicating that a permit is in place and payment has been made.
While there is some discretion that could be applied by the inspectors there is nothing keeping them from issuing a summons on the first visit.
