Good Afternoon All,
It has been a hectic time in our BIA between Taste last weekend and the increased construction in our area this week. I hope that everyone is managing as well as possible.
Construction Updates:
- We are halfway through the 2 week westbound closure of Danforth from Ellerbeck to Broadview and the north side closure of the Broadview Danforth intersection. Work is progressing well and we are currently still on track for this to last one more week and stay within the anticipated 2 week timeframe.
- The next phase (after we complete the current two week closure) will begin on Monday, Aug. 28th on Broadview and on the south portion of the Broadview Danforth intersection. During this phase we will be able to maintain eastbound traffic along the Danforth - so it won't be the same as what we are currently experiencing on the north side of Danforth. However there will be impacts to our businesses on Broadview south of Danforth. For members in this section I will be sending you information for an on-line meeting with our City construction team - we will be organizing this meeting for sometime next week. A separate email will be sent to you.
- The Green P lot north of our Shoppers is currently undergoing some construction - they are installing electric vehicle charging stations. Why they couldn't wait to do this until after the major construction is done is beyond me but..... they should be done this work in a few days and then the lot will be fully operational again.
- I hope everyone survived this very busy weekend! We never did get a site plan so I know we all had to roll with the set up as it was set up. Our BD Beats bands did an amazing job throughout the weekend and added a wonderful layer to our section of the Danforth. Families seemed to enjoy the section of kiddie rides and games - we didn't know we were getting these until last minute but they did seem to add to our area.

- We're heading into our final couple of weeks hosting our live summer music program. The last band will play on Sunday, September 3rd in the Carrot Common courtyard.
- Despite the construction work on the north side of Danforth we have still been able to run our Thursday night bands and hopefully they're bringing a bit of joy in that section.
