Upcoming Workshops & Courses at Mouland Coaching

BRAIN GYM® 101 Certification Course
February 1-3 (Friday 6 pm - 10 pm, Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 am - 7:30 pm)
April 12-14

"Learning, thought, creativity and intelligence are not processes of the brain alone, but of the whole body.  Sensations, movements, emotions and brain integrative functions are grounded in the body." (Dr Carla Hannaford, Smart Moves)

Brain Gym®, a movement-based, learning-readiness program draws on techniques from many fields such as applied kinesiology, chiropractic, developmental optometry and psychology to assist with whole-brain integration.

Learning blocks occur when the individual is under stress and information cannot flow freely among the brain centers, sensory systems and the body. There is an imbalance somewhere in the system!  Brain Gym®'s movements stimulate the communication so balance is created or restored, freeing the innate ability to learn and to function at top efficiency. The 26 movements are safe, simple and fun and can be done within a 5-step balance, easily and quickly.

Participants learn the 5-step balance process, 26 BRAIN GYM® movements and repatterning.  The change and understanding of the BRAIN GYM® process begins with the participants who may experience their own rapid and dramatic improvements in concentration, focus, communication, memory, organization, listening, physical coordination, reading, writing, focus, creativity, and much more.  It is very much experiential learning!

This is a great course for parents, teachers, counsellors, therapists, coaches, athletes and performers.

BRAIN GYM® developed out of studies in Educational Kinesiology directed at helping children with learning difficulties. Today, it is helping children with ADHD, Autism, Sensory Integration, and other classroom challenges as well as help achieving students gain overall academic success.  BRAIN GYM® is used in the classroom, in the boardroom, in athletics, and in hospitals for recovery and mental health.

Dynamic Performance Workshop for Dancers and Athletes

In this 2 hour workshop, athletes and dancers will use a powerful blend of Brain Gym and reflex integration (Rhythmic Movement Training) with a dash of fun and laughter to get ready to take their performance to the next level!

Optimum practice, performance and competition occur when the brain and body are fully balanced left-right, front-back and up-down.  When the 3 dimensions are integrated and working together, the body moves comfortably and freely.  When under stress, this 3 dimension communication breaks down, compensations can appear, performance anxiety develops, and so on.

Dancers/athletes are required to accomplish the end result almost immediately.  This creates a situation where the dancer/athlete may not be fully in tune with her body and how it is moving.  There may be limited internal awareness and the dancer/athlete relies on external feedback to understand his personal space, and quality of movement.  The ability to cope with internal and external stressors is limited.

The dancer/athlete must have internal awareness to recognize the occurence of a breakdown within the 3 dimensions when there is a stressor and to identify which of the 3 dimensions requires attention. This workshop allows the participant to develop this internal awareness and then choose movements specifically designed for dimension balancing.

This workshop is open to both girls and boys, from recreational level dance/sports to elite competition.
