Faces & Places on the Danforth: Chris and Gunnar @planetofsoundhifi

Meet the new sound kids on the block @planetofsoundhifi - new to #thedanforthbia that is. The business has been around for sometime; it was established over 11 yrs ago by Gunnar Van Vliet, where he first introduced his taste for high-end audio equipment in Ottawa. They eventually expanded and opened its first location in Toronto at Queen & Sherbourne, which has since moved to Queen W & Ossington. And now this location on Danforth to satisfy East end patrons.

Chris (left) manages this location here on the Danforth. Chris has always been passionate about music and quality sound equipment. He joined the team when he was living in Ottawa, and recently moved near POS’ first location.

When this location opened up he jumped on the opportunity to relocate as its manager.

Gunnar’s real focus is to showcase what quality sound is like. And the space you walk into is very much reflective of that. They travel the world to visit all the audio shows and talk to manufacturers to constantly find the few products that are exceptional.

Chris has come to love the charm on the Danforth since their opening. He appreciates the sense of community here and enjoys exploring the city on his free time.

Be sure to stop in on your next trip to the Danforth. Chris and his staff are more than happy to answer any questions. They have a selection of vinyl records and accessories as well. But they always recommend bringing your own records to test out audio equipment so you can truly experience the difference of sound quality from what you are used to at home.
