Shoplifting/PickPocket Alert

Good Afternoon BIA Members,

I've received a few alerts from a couple of members about incidents in the area.  Thank you to The Clay Room and The Carrot Common for flagging these with me.

Please be aware of the following:
  • Anyone coming in and asking if you take cash as a payment.  I know, this seems odd but.... there's a guy going around wearing a mask and hoodie asking this question.  This may be perfectly innocent but one of our members had a feeling that he was trying to see who had cash on site.  My recommendation is to go with your gut feeling - if it feels "hinky" say that you take debit and credit cards.
  • There is a trio of people allegedly working together in the area shoplifting and picking pockets.  They have been reported to the police.  Emailed to you are 2 photos of the people.  Please make sure you share this with your staff.  Again, my recommendation is to not put yourself in harm's way if they enter your business - call the police or do an on-line report.
If you have concerns please always feel free to contact Police Constable #7323 Jonathan Little:
