The Toronto Police Service has introduced a new service that allows for automated notification by phone or SMS of special messages released by Toronto Police.  When you register to receive these notifications, you can choose what types of messages you would like to receive from the following categories:

• Special Events
• Community Meetings
• Road Closures
• School Lockdowns
• Critical Incident Notifications
• Missing Person Notifications
• Citizen Evacuations
• Suspicious Person Notifications

Using specialized software, messages are only sent to registrants if they have opted in to the relevant category, AND if they fall within a relevant geographical boundary.  Registrants can choose whether they prefer SMS text messages, or automated voice messages.
