Reminder: Federal Subsidy Programs Begin to Decrease

Good Morning All,

Last week the Federal Budget was finally approved which means that the Rent and Wage Subsidy programs will continue to September 25/21.  However, as of July 4/21 the amounts that you receive will start to decrease.

For the Wage Subsidy program there will be an overlap between that program and the new Recovery Hiring Program.  This new program will cover 50% of wages until November 20/21.

For those using the current Wage Subsidy please make sure that you start the process for this new program so that your overlap is as smooth as possible.

Here is the full information on the Recovery Hiring Program including a link to the calculator.

Federal Government Launches Online Calculator to Help Businesses Apply for the New Canada Recovery Hiring Program

With the recently announced Canada Recovery Hiring Program (CRHP), hard-hit businesses will be able to hire the workers they need to recover and grow as local economies reopen. The CRHP supports payroll as businesses grow, whether as a result of hiring staff, increasing shifts, or increasing overall pay. Use the new online calculator or downloadable spreadsheet before you apply to find the amount of CRHP or Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy you can claim.

Thanks,
Susan

The Sunflower Project

In celebration of BD Beats, BIA business member @cobsdanforth (156 Danforth Ave.) will be spearheading ‘The Sunflower Project’ , a fundraiser in support of a Ukrainian family’s recent resettlement in Toronto. Vibrant solar powered sunflowers (the official flower of Ukraine) will be available beginning at noon on June 4 with proceeds going directly to the family. A group of volunteer youth will be selling the sunflowers for a minimum donation of $20 each at the BIA CafeTO parkette located in the curb lane enclosure in front of COBS. The goal is to sell one hundred sunflowers by 3pm. For those unable to attend but wishing to make a donation, please click below
