A Fun Friday Message to BIA Members..

Happy Friday All,

During all of the craziness that we've been dealing with I don't get to send nice, fun emails to you that often but.... today is our fun Friday email day!  We have a few nice things to let you know about:
Show LoveTO Heart comes to our Broadview Danforth BIA
This is an initiative from the City of Toronto's ShowLoveTO campaign. LoveTO features 26 illuminated hearts distributed across each ward in our city and one at City Hall. Late last year our BIA was selected to have the LoveTO Heart for this ward.  Unfortunately with the various lock-downs the installation had to be delayed but..... yesterday the heart arrived!  We'd like to thank Councillor Fletcher for putting our BIA forward as a location; and, David and Thomas Walsh for agreeing to have the heart installed in the courtyard of the Carrot Common.  Attached is a photo of our heart sculpture.  It will be lit up every night from 4pm to 8am.  This City initiative was designed to bring something lovely to various neighbourhoods and to spread love to Toronto businesses and residents.  Now that the heart is here we will organize a few promotions to help get people out and enjoying it - I will send further details next week.

Carrot Common's Green Roof Open House - Saturday, September 11
Our Carrot Common is hosting a rooftop open house tomorrow.  If you haven't had a chance to see their rooftop garden and patio it is well worth the visit.  And on your way up to the rooftop you can check out the heart :-)  Attached please find the details for tomorrow's event.

Riverdale Hive Open House - Saturday, September 11

Located at 746 Broadview Avenue, The Riverdale Hive is one of our new BIA members and you're invited to their Open House this Saturday, Sept.11th 12-5pm.  It's a chance to meet instructor and studio owner,Toby, ask questions and find out more about what is coming to the studio this fall! Registrations will be open to those interested.

Wishing you all a great weekend in our Broadview Danforth BIA!

The Sunflower Project

In celebration of BD Beats, BIA business member @cobsdanforth (156 Danforth Ave.) will be spearheading ‘The Sunflower Project’ , a fundraiser in support of a Ukrainian family’s recent resettlement in Toronto. Vibrant solar powered sunflowers (the official flower of Ukraine) will be available beginning at noon on June 4 with proceeds going directly to the family. A group of volunteer youth will be selling the sunflowers for a minimum donation of $20 each at the BIA CafeTO parkette located in the curb lane enclosure in front of COBS. The goal is to sell one hundred sunflowers by 3pm. For those unable to attend but wishing to make a donation, please click below
